Weighing In

A group of excited children and their parents cast their lines into Stump Pond (Woonasquatucket Reservoir) in Smithfield on Sunday, May 18. It was a gorgeous spring day and each hoped to catch a winning fish in the Byron Peter Foundation for Hope Annual Bass Fishing Tournament.  Foundation President, Marilynn Hammond commented, "This is the fourth year for this event, with the best weather and the best turnout yet. We're happy to provide this opportunity for the kids and parents to enjoy a day on the water together." Hammond continued, "We had great support from several sponsors who donated prizes to make the tournament a fun and rewarding experience for the kids.  I'd especially like to thank Jim Dio and the Northern RI Hawg Haulers Fishing Club for their organizational help and Ocean State Tackle for their donation of gift certificates."
